Oh She Glows Cookbook Giveaway!

I recently bought a copy of The Oh She Glows Cookbook by Angela Liddon at our local Sprouts. I think it's worth mentioning that Sprouts is something we loved having in Arizona and we were so shocked to find one in Raleigh. Its honestly the best grocery store. Its like a mix of Trader Joe's and Wholefoods with so much great produce and awesome prices. I had a bit of a google and it looks like they are in the process of opening stores across the US, so if you don't already have a Sprouts near you - you might soon!

Okay, back to the book - The Oh She Glows Cookbook! Who of us does not want to Glow? I love the name of this cookbook, it feels oddly empowering for the genre, but I'm embracing it! Like people in the street might see me walking by and be like 'Oh, (pause) she glows!' A girl can dream :)

I feel like I'm incredibly late to the table on this one.. it came out in 2014.. so just a few years late, no big deal right? If you already know and love this cookbook Angela released a sequel, Oh She Glows Every Day late last year.

I really love Angela's approach to vegan food, it's very low on the meat and dairy substitute foods and focuses on great whole foods instead. She's also not into labels, which I think is really important. Why put that pressure on yourself to perfectly conform to a particular label? Plant-based suggests a flexibility which I think is a really positive thing.

I found the start of the recipe book so helpful. Angela goes through her natural pantry items with descriptions of her most commonly used ingredients. It's awesome to have that kind of information included in a recipe book. I find a lot of 'non-standard' ingredients a bit intimidating to be honest and this really helped to break things down and make them more accessible. For example, rather than a recipe just including arrowroot powder, I can read about why that was included and what benefits it has.

I've been making this Quick Chana Masala for a few months after discovering it on Cookie & Kate. I try to cook a plant based meal a few nights a week. This has been such a great recipe. It keeps really well for lunches, its inexpensive and delicious. This recipe is what made me buy the book. I wanted to share the love so I'll be giving away a copy of the The Oh She Glows Cookbook, to enter comment on this post, and follow me on instagram @anotefromhome, open to the US and Australia only. The winner will be randomly selected on the 1st August 2017, I'll announce it here on the blog and on insta! Good luck!
