Our Wedding - Part Two - Venue

Planning a wedding from the other side of the world is not the easiest thing I have ever done. I knew that I would need to keep some aspects simple. I wanted a venue that would accommodate the ceremony, reception and a place for our guests to stay. We had friends and family travelling from Australia, Alabama, Iowa, Ohio, New York, North Carolina, Massachusetts and Pennsylvania. This was the hardest detail to decide on it took me about 6 months of trawling the internet to finally find the Mountain Magnolia Inn in Hot Springs, NC. Jon's parents did some recon for us and spent a weekend visiting the Inn. They let us know that the Inn was even more beautiful than the pictures! I was sold!

The ceremony was held under a large walnut tree, I couldn't have imagined a more beautiful place for our wedding. I don't even know if these photos do it justice! I also saw my first fireflies (Jon calls them lightning bugs) in this tree the night before, magic!

Our reception tent, dance floor and fire pit were all just behind this area. It all felt like one big beautiful space that flowed perfectly.

It was amazing to be staying at the Inn. Before the wedding, while I was getting ready, I was able to look out from the second floor veranda and see all our guest arriving, hear the pre ceremony music playing and watch everything coming together.
