Our Wedding - Part Three - Details!

I always love the little details at weddings! The sweet little touches that personalise an event. Organising from afar meant I couldn't get to DIY crazy but our wedding was just as intimate and special nonetheless, I just had to get creative in other ways! The distance also helped me pare things back and make really conscious choices, I had to develop a really clear vision for everything.

The colour scheme was 'classic', the table decor predominantly white and gold (nothing groundbreaking there), with natural accents like these flower arrangements and these handmade wreath place settings-

These were super simple to make and lots of our guest took them home as a keepsake, some are even planning to hand them on their Christmas trees. Whilst on the topic of tables, we used these small chalk signs from Joann's for our table numbers.

Instead of going for the huge formal cake we opted for a smaller cake and a dessert table. Jon selected all of the desserts and our guests really loved it! Our cake and dessert table was by an Asheville based company, Ruth and Ranshaw, if you are visiting Asheville or getting married in the area definitely check them out! While we were staying in Asheville, prior to the wedding, we got my Nans birthday cake there as well, it was ahh-mazing!

Chocolate whoopie pies!

For our ceremony we had a harp and a cello playing. Cello's have to be my favourite instrument, I feel like they speak to my soul! The harp really helped to keep the music sounding lighter and more joyful. This was such an elegant and beautiful detail!

Some other details not photographed were small bottles of bubbles for guests to blow after the ceremony, little bags of pastel coloured sugar coated almonds (I ate mine and Jon's.. whoops!), some 'Mr' & 'Mrs' blackboard signs and a memory candle that we lit at the beginning of our ceremony in honour of those who sadly could not make it. I really feel that all of these details contributed to making our wedding so much more special and beautiful!
