Our Wedding - Part One - Flowers

I am so excited to share this post! We were married in May 2014 at the Mountain Magnolia Inn in Hot Springs, NC. Our day was incredibly special, we were so lucky to share it with our amazing family and friends. I planned the entire wedding from Australia, which was a huge challenge but we pulled it off! I remember sitting at our reception thinking 'there isn't anything I would change', which is a great moment to have. Over the next few posts I want to share some of the details that helped inspire that feeling!

Let's start with one of my favourite aspects, flowers. Our florist, The Enchanted Florist in Asheville, was incredibly professional and easy to deal with from afar. She suggested that I create a Pinterest board for wedding flowers and simply pin things that I like. This process really helped me to create a vision for what I wanted. I sent the Pinterest link through to her full of bridal bouquets, bridesmaids bouquets, boutonnieres, and flowers for decor.

Our wedding ceremony was outdoors under a large walnut tree, along the aisle we had these gorgeous pink hydrangea arrangements

I didn't want the reception space to appear flat so I was interested in creating some height at a couple of the tables. We kept the hydrangea theme going at some tables,

And had some tall arrangements like this to create the height I was looking for. I loved how green and natural these table arrangements looked. When it was time for our guests to sit down we swapped these arrangements out for smaller ones.

The boutonnieres were also really natural looking

The bridesmaids had these bouquets, bright pink roses, which contrasted really well with their blue dresses, it looked stunning!

And my favourite flowers of the day.. A mix of white and pink peonies, bright pink roses, and some gorgeous lily of the valley.
